So far, the conservative plan has nothing to do with fairness, and everything to do with promoting big businesses control over the country, and inflate the profits margins of a select few. Sure, they claim to want to help small businesses, however, when you take a glance at the state of the telecommunications industry in the US, you'll note that small business have little to no chance, because the Government makes contracts with the 4 or 5 major telecommunications giants in the country, making it impossible for any small business to get a leg in.
Conservatives want to allow States to govern themselves, and yet say nothing when the Federal Government steps in and attempts to influence State law. See, California Marijuana dispensaries and the Fed, as a prime example. You don't have to be interested in the legalization of Marijuana, simply notice the complete lack of conservative response. California voted for it (I don't live in California), they chose their own path, and the Fed stepped in and attempted to strong arm them. Being pro small government and State's right to govern, shouldn't be selective. If you're for that principle, you're for it. Otherwise, you send mixed, and quite hypocritical signals which only makes the populace more wary of your stances.
As far as the Democrats, well, they've been spending most of their time attempting to fix and stop a freefall. Most analysts have agreed that the Stimulus and even TARP, were necessary to stop an even greater catastrophe from occurring to this country's economic situation. I'm not an analyst, so I can't pour through the numbers myself and corroborate any of it, however, when the overwhelming majority (some of which are actually non-partisan), you have to eventually trust a few sources when they say it was necessary and what could've happened had they not acted. In my humble opinion, the conservative agenda of making Obama a one-term president has far outweighed the actual desire to fix or progress, the country, in any meaningful manner. Which has damaged many attempts at making things better in the long run.
As far as Christianity is concerned, honestly, I don't care what you practice, privately or in Church. However, Christianity does not run this country, it never has, and never will. The United States is not a theocracy, and any attempts to subvert that, should be met with severe, severe consequences. I'm sorry if you disagree with that, but this country has more people in it, than just Christian's, or Muslims, or Catholics, or Jews, or Buddhists etc... All a theocracy does (Any theocracy, my objection to theocratic rule isn't just against Christianity), is marginalize and enslave those who don't believe the same thing as whichever religion is in charge. Imagine how things would be if the US was a Muslim nation. Imagine how bad things would be for Christian's then. Understand what I'm saying? Theocratic rule, always, always hurts those in the minority. In a democracy, the only possible way for the civilization to progress, is to separate Church from State, as the founding Father's suggested.
You speak as if the commandments are the only moral compass out there, like 'thou shalt not kill' was somehow miraculously discovered and agreed upon because of religion. I posit that most civilizations already realized killing was bad, and that life was valuable by that point in time. Christianity was neither the first to put forth such ideals, nor was it the last. In fact many of Christianities beliefs and values, were drawn from earlier civilizations. That's how Christianity became popular and was able to be accepted by so many. Christmas, Easter, Halloween, etc... these holidays are all smack dab on top of holy days of other civilizations that existed long before Christianity. You know that Horus, son of Osiris, was born of immaculate conception? And also had 12 disciples? There are many many examples of this throughout Christianity.
I find it insulting though, that you'd suggest people would simply be ok with killing others, because Christian values aren't followed. I find that to be a scare tactic, and an under-handed one at that. I may have problems with Christianity, Catholicism, Islam, Judaism, but that doesn't mean my values aren't as moral as your own. That you attempt to assert such a thing, as I said, is an insult...and I'd appreciate being a little more thoughtful in such discussions. Christian's are not without their dark chapters, after all. Once upon a time, they killed non-believes en-masse, just because they didn't believe the same things. And yet....they don't now? Maybe that's because they learned they needed to adapt to a changing world...become more moderate in their ways in order to survive and thrive.
I'm not here to tell you what your values or, or should be. That's for you to decide, but I except the same courtesy in return. And I certainly expect that just because I may not follow Christian beliefs, that I'm not ok with murder, theft, rape, etc.... That makes me feel like Christian's believe all non-believers are savage beasts. And...who's going to respond kindly to such things?

The conservative plan isn't nothing. The plan is to stop needless spending, to make the tax system fair so that everyone pays their fair share instead of people being punished for achieving wealth, and to shrink the size of government, thus saving even more tax money. The Democrat plan is just to spend a lot of money wastefully, institute Government control over every aspect of our private life, and push an immoral, anti-christian agenda by claiming that we are the intolerant ones. It is amazing that whenever a Christian says something that is biblically true, they are called judgemental and haters, even though they aren't saying anything hateful, but the liberal will personally attack someone and be very hateful to them by using the old "the bible is irrelevant today" routine. Remember that when it is suddenly decided one day that it is OK to kill someone if it makes you feel good, because the bible really isn't relevant today, so what do we need to follow all those outdated commandments for? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I may not agree with yours, but I certainly don't begrudge you the right to have it.
